

Portland Manor Country Estate nestles in the foothills of the majestic Outeniqua mountains just 15 kms from the holiday town of Knysna.
Established in 1849 the Manor house, Lodge, Restaurant, pub, 7 hectare dam and game camp is surrounded by fruit orchards, indigenous forests and mature gardens. It has been described as 200 hectares of heaven on earth, the perfect country getaway.
Lawn wood Lodge has 19 tastefully decorated rooms including double rooms, which are ideal for small families. Our luxury rooms are spacious and individually furnished and have log burning fireplaces and en-suite facilities, there is also a large lounge area for guests to enjoy. Each room has a television with satellite channels, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities.
The Manor house was built during the early 1860’s by an English gentleman named Henry Barrington and still retains its obvious English heritage. There are 8 bedrooms 6 of which are en-suite and 2 sharing.
There is also a large lounge, dining room, library and bar for our guests to enjoy; all rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.
The Manor house has been furnished with antiques ranging from crystal chandeliers from 1864 (the date the house was finished) through to the 1950’s, in keeping with the property. Enjoy the views onto the stunning
